Passengers and tourists who use the Luas tram line in Dublin are facing major disruption as a two-day strike continues.
Workers in the SIPTU union (Services, Industrial, Professional and Technical Union), have stopped work for 48 hours in a bitter dispute over pay.

It has estimated that 90,000 passengers have been affected over the two days.

Another all -out strike is expected next week.

SIPTU is demanding pay rises averaging at 40% for their union members.
The union said its members believe they are underpaid, when compared to workers doing similar jobs in Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail).

Irish Transport Minister Paschal Donohoe TD told Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ) on Wednesday that efforts had been made to avoid any strike.
He stated that both sides need to talk and reach an agreement on the way forward.
