Residents living in the small town of Wangaratta, Victoria state, Austrailia, have been consumed by a super fast-growing tumbleweed called “hairy panic”. It is literally taking over homes in the town.
The recent long period of dry conditions mean that the toxic weeds have piled up outside an entire row of residents homes. Locals report the weed is so aggressive it will often reach roof high.
Residents who are affected say they have been forced to clear out the weeds themselves, often for several hours daily. Some home owners in the area have resorted to taking chainsaws to the tumble weed just to reach their own front doors.
